Inception of our school – Upon the brilliant minds of the founders, late Dr. H.T. Rodrigo and his beloved wife late Mrs. Annie Milka Rodrigo, our Rotarian alma mater journey began. It started as a nursery school having 12 students and 4 teachers.

Another landmark was reached this year where we completed our student base of 300 students in addition to our 28 teachers. We embarked on following the British and National Curriculum both to upgrade the learning standards.
A proud year was the year of 2007 for the Rotarians as our first set of students sat of the GCE O/L examinations.
In September, we expanded our first wing by opening our first branch in Delkanda. Also we reached the landmark of 500 students in the same year giving us another reason to celebrate the year as successful.
We formed our first ever cricket team to participate in the Schools level.
Another very proud milestone was that we produced our first A/L batch.

Milani Niluksha was able to mark her name into the history books of Rotary been the first student to enter into Sri Lankan University for the Arts Faculty.
With the rapid development seen at our school, the Nugegoda branch had to be expanded and hence students were transferred to a new fully furnished building at the same premises.
Rotary Alumni formed the past pupil’s association in motive of giving a helping hand to the current students.
With the large number of requests by parents to have a section for students who wish to learn in Sinhala medium, the management decided to embark on another journey creating “Rotary College”, a sister school of RIS, to cater the wishes of the Sinhala medium students.
