Mr. Rohan Rodrigo

Managing Director – Rotary International School Of Higher Studies

Rotary International School has been educating boys and girls since 1993, and though much has changed over the years, our mission remains the same. Rotary International School is committed to developing students of high academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and strong moral character. As a result, year by year, Rotary matriculates respectful, responsible, and compassionate young adults, who are well prepared to tackle the challenges that lay ahead.

Rotary International school is a friendly school where each and every student is understood, valued and attended to. Our students are provided with the state of the art facilities like computer laboratory and science laboratory. Equal attention is given to the development of the children both academically and in extracurricular activities like different sports, Dhamma school, cultural activities, etc.

The school which started as a nursery school that has grown into a complete school is the result of careful management and building hopes of the parents which inturn producing young successful citizens to the nation. We are always open to refreshing views and suggestions which can add more values to the students of our school.

On behalf of the management, I am proud to say that looking back our journey which started with my father, Dr. Thomas Rodrigo, we have been able to open eyes of thousands of children who are currently excelling well in their lives and it is my wish and hope to make our school a trademark in this society.

Mr.Thilak Rodrigo

Director – Rotary International School Of Higher Studies

Rotary International school was established in 1993 as a sister institution of “Rotary hall” widely known for the supportive classes conducted for the GCE A/Ls students. The desire of the founder of both institutions, the late Dr. Thomas Rodrigo, was to provide all facilities for the academic advancement to children of middle income group parents.

The beginning of the Rotary International School was the nursery class level. The school grew along with children and now it has become a fully-fledged school with students sitting for GCE O/L and GCE A/L examinations.

Our school represents a cross section of the society and is a rich blanket of multi-cultural diversity. Children come to us from varied cultural, social, racial and religious backgrounds. Within school they learn to live together as one big family, regardless of their roots and create newer and stronger bonds with each other that will last them a life time.

Our school’s coeducational environment reflects the world in which our students will one day live and work. Beyond mastering academic disciplines, students are taught to respect all people and things, to be honest with themselves and others, put forth maximum effort, and seek ways to support their communities.

We at Rotary provide holistic education where children evolve as individuals who are self-motivated and creative, who can think, question and reason out logically; who are independent, confident and leaders capable of taking decision.

I am grateful to the tutorial staff, the students and others whose efforts we see on the stage today.

Director – Rotary International School Of Higher Studies

We aim to create a safe, nurturing yet challenging environment that is built on positive relationships; developing the whole student – emotionally, socially and academically. We care for and appreciate each of our students as the unique individuals that they are, each with distinct talents, interests and needs, and each with differing learning styles.

We want each of our students to leave school with the values of respect, cooperation, persistence and striving for excellence underpinning all that they do. Our students develop responsibility for their own behavior and the choices they make, and also a communal responsibility to assist their peers to do the same. Our students become strong in self-esteem and personal expectation and develop a healthy and respectful tolerance for others.

We have expanded our scope this year to send students abroad for their higher education providing the students who leave school another helping hand to break into the global environment. Rotary Institute of Graduate Studies, more commonly popular as RIGS has already engaged with many countries and has the potential to send to any course depending on the dream of the student.

Rotary International School is a friendly, vibrant, community-minded school, whose decisions always put our students first. We are very keen to involve our community in our learning, developing true partnerships that value each student. There are many opportunities for parental and community involvement. We hope that through your participation and interest you will also come to feel very much a part of our school and its warm and generous community.
